Inside/Outpost is proud to present the next in a series of archival releases from Pittsburgh’s own Viceroy. Beacon of Distress collects material specifically from the 2008-09 sessions and with the exception of two tracks appearing on the 2013 Steady Furniture album this material is completely unreleased. This is some of Viceroy’s most diverse material ranging from full band improvisational racket to spacey meditative soundscapes. This collection has been pieced together as a sonic collage and is intended to be a continuous listening experience.

This material also holds special significance as it contains some of the most heavy involvement from Viceroy member/mainstay Sam Rago. We sadly lost Sam in early 2018 and this record (along with 2018’s Wood-Fed Boiler) is dedicated to his memory.
